Students should experience the joy of belonging, of being known and valued, and of being challenged toward what they are capable of becoming.
Faculty members should understand the importance of their work, experience joy in their calling, and have a meaningful voice in what happens within their classrooms.
Providence embraces the fullness of the traditional liberal arts, moving students beyond merely possessing information toward understanding, using, and communicating knowledge wisely. Christian faith is not added onto an otherwise secular education. Students learn to bring their knowledge of God and their academic learning together into one coherent understanding of reality.
The school’s ultimate purpose extends beyond individual academic success. Providence seeks to raise students toward maturity in Christ so that their lives will contribute to the health and size of God’s Church.
Rigor is not a burden placed upon students, but a capacity cultivated within them—the habits of attention, perseverance, precision, and thoughtful inquiry that prepare them to pursue truth .
Students should learn to speak with kindness, courtesy, and graciousness while also possessing the courage to stand firmly for truth. Students are prepared to understand what they believe, explain it clearly, and engage others with both conviction and grace. Providence equips students with the skills, knowledge, and Christian worldview necessary to engage faithfully in the spheres of influence God gives them.
We believe parents are ultimately responsible for the education and discipleship of their children, and the school serves as a trusted partner in that sacred calling. Rooted in the same biblical foundation and aimed toward the same mission, parents and teachers stand together to help children know, love, and serve Jesus Christ. This shared work reflects the biblical vision of paideia—the formation of the whole child through the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). Therefore, the home and school seek to discipline in tandem, exhort in tandem, and cultivate in each student a unified love for Christ, truth, wisdom, and virtue.
